Backward planning
By default, tasks are forward planned — the start date is fixed and the due date is calculated.
Backward planning fixes the due date and calculates the start date backwards from it:
- Open a task.
- Set Planning Direction to Backward.
- Set the due date and duration.
- The start date is calculated automatically.
Use backward planning when you have a hard deadline and need to work out the latest possible start date.
